Biography

I am a board certified Clinical Social Work Intern. My passion is working with clients toward their empowerment, healing, and transformative change.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked with survivors of interpersonal, structural, and state violence for over two decades as a lawyer, and walked with many clients through significant life changes and challenges.

As a therapist, I take a trauma-informed, strengths-based, collaborative, and culturally responsive approach to working with clients of all backgrounds. I specialize in working with adults of all ages, teens (15-older), and LGTQIA+ persons.

I have experience working with clients on issues including childhood abuse, dysfunction, and attachment trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, substance use, depression and anxiety, emotional disregulation, eating disorders (anorexia and bulimia), grief and loss, and life transitions.

I believe that our mental health challenges make sense based on our experiences and emotional learnings and that healing is possible. My training in multiple evidence-based therapeutic approaches allows me to propose and select treatment options that are responsive to your concerns, preferences, and goals. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a structured, evidence-based approach that helps individuals manage overwhelming emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and build healthy coping strategies. DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness to support lasting emotional regulation and personal growth.

Coherence Therapy & Memory Reconsolidation

I am trained in Coherence Therapy and Memory Reconsolidation, approaches that help uncover and transform deeply rooted emotional patterns at their core. These methods work by accessing and updating implicit emotional memories, leading to lasting, meaningful change without relapse.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Motivational Interviewing

I am trained in Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Motivational Interviewing, both goal-oriented approaches that empower clients to create meaningful change by building on their strengths and inner motivation. These methods are collaborative, practical, and focused on helping individuals move forward with clarity and confidence.

Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT)

I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based approach designed to help children, teens, and their caregivers process and heal from traumatic experiences. TF-CBT combines trauma-sensitive interventions with cognitive and behavioral strategies to support recovery, build resilience, and restore a sense of safety.

Experienced in Internal Family Systems

I have experience in Internal Family Systems (IFS), a compassionate, evidence-based approach that helps individuals understand and heal the different “parts” of themselves. IFS supports lasting emotional growth by fostering self-awareness, self-leadership, and internal harmony.
