At Seeds2Succeed Wellness & Therapy, we often say that growth begins where comfort ends. Whether it’s starting therapy, setting a boundary, leaving a job, or finally prioritizing your mental health; real change asks something big of us: courage.
And here’s the truth about courage, it doesn’t always roar. Sometimes it’s the quiet decision to sit still for five minutes and breathe, even when your mind is screaming to scroll, escape, or do something productive. Sometimes, courage starts with meditation.
🌊 Discomfort Is Not a Red Flag; It’s a Signal for Change
Change rarely feels cozy. In fact, the path to a more authentic life often feels less comfortable before it feels better. That’s because stepping into something new often brings fear, resistance, and uncertainty. But those sensations aren’t signs you’re doing something wrong. They’re signs that you’re alive, awake, and stretching into something meaningful.
Meditation helps us get intimate with that discomfort. It invites us to pause, listen inward, and get curious, without judgment. It doesn’t promise instant peace. It offers presence. And from presence, real change is possible.
🧘🏾♀️ This Week’s Practice: “Sit with the Leap”
Try this short meditation as a starting point for change:
- Find a quiet place. Set a timer for 5 minutes. Sit or lie down comfortably.
- Close your eyes. Notice your breath as it is, without changing it.
- Let thoughts come. You may feel restless or distracted. That’s okay. Gently bring your attention back to your breath.
- Ask yourself:
→ “What change am I being called toward?”
→ “What am I avoiding because it feels uncomfortable?” - Breathe into the answer. Don’t rush to fix or act. Just notice.
Sometimes, just noticing is the first leap.
🪴 Growing Through Courage
Courage isn’t about never being afraid. It’s about not letting fear drive the bus. When we slow down and make space for our discomfort, whether through meditation, reflection, or conversation, we create room for clarity and values-aligned action.
Maybe this is your week to take one small step toward something different. Something bold. Something that’s been nudging you quietly in the background. Start by sitting with it. Name it. Then dare to move toward it.
Because all transformation begins with one brave, wobbly step. 🌱
